Im worried there is brake fluid below the brake fluid reservoir, more precise: the master cylinder bore assembly..
It has run down the chassis and onto the ground : There is NO more fluid leaking though. Is this a small job (o-ring or such) to get fixed, or mega overhaul?? Any help will be good... |

It is cheaper to replace the Master Cylinder than to overhaul it ... well ... that's if you get someone to overhaul it for you ... as it takes time.
I have a bit of a weepage mark under mine as well ... but it's not dropping fluid now. Do you have a soft brake pedal feel ... and does it slowly creep to the floor under heavy foot pressure????

It didn't just run out when you were changing the rotors? Manipulating the pistons can cause it to overflow

It could have just boiled and came up from the top of the reservoir, have you been doing any hard braking? and also what dot rating fluid did you put into it?
I would wipe of the brake fluid off the chassis as it will eat though your paint if left there. |

Nope nothing happened when I put the new rotors on, all good.
DOT 4 I used. I did though come to not hard but harder than usual stop, to avoid the aireil getting slingshotted by a tree.. |

Brake fluid is a mineral based oil and as such can be washed away with water. clean it thoroughly, and check if it returns. It would not be unusual for some spillage to occur while rotors and pads are replaced.
If the leak reappears, get it checked by a pro. Brake issues are VERY serious, and should not be taken lightly! Cheers, Mike
