I'm looking at putting a BA dash into an AU and was wondering if anyone here could shed some light on what i will need to do to get it to fit
YES i know this will be a HUGE job but it's something i want to do and if there is a way of doing it then i will I have heard that the BA shared a similar floor pan to the AU but i'm not sure about the firewalls or even if the curvature of the 2 dashes will be the same Anyone care to shed some light on this subject? |

There's a guy around who's put the entire interior out of a BA into an AU, so it can be done, but it's a big job. I think there was an issue with getting the BA BEM, which you need to run the instruments, to talk to the AU ECU. Amongst many other things. Personally I think it's WAAAY too much effort, but good luck to you!

Yeah i'm actually putting whole BA interior into AU as well but mt main concern was the dash You know who it was who did the conversion? |

mate you're better off selling your au and buying a ba, IMO don't touch the au interior, if you want the ba insides then get a ba. it's not worth all that effort and cash when you can just sell your au and by a ba for around 10-12 grand.

If you put the BA dash in, you'll definately need the BA door trims, as they both line up together.
The guy was on fordmods.com that did it. Have a search on there. Cheers

Hmmm nice custom idea but you know I reckon it would be easier to fit the stroker to a half decent BA than fit all the BA dash and electronics into an AU. you also get the IRS which will help with all the power.
unless your independently wealthy, bored and have lots of mates who will help for free I wouldn't bother it's just too hard. You may as well just go build a complete custom dash from scratch. |

I'd rather be putting an AU interior in a BA, the BA interior has no class IMO.

OK - my main concern is now organised
Trimming mob up here will make the custom brackets needed to mount the new dash all i have to do is run the new wiring through first My flatmate said he'd make the brackets for me so whilst running wires etc through i'll let him have look at it but i'm thinking that it will be the trimmers who will do it - we'll see Apparently door skins are the only thing the same on the BA from AU not the actual doors themselves like first though so will be doing some measurements and trying on a BA door to see if it will fit If not will have to custom drill holes etc for door trims etc to fit I think the biggest headache of this conversion will be in the wiring Everything else seems superficial to me We'll see though lol |

Biggest headache will be the BEM. BAs never came with windsors.
