Default BA Intake into AU

i was just having a look through the workshop section of AUFalcon.com and came across the BA Intake mod. This looks interesting to me, as i have already got half the setup done with the tickford snorkle and EF lid. I did a search of the forums but couldnt find much. Has anyone else done this mod and have anything to report on it? Is it worth while? I called Ford spare parts and they quoted me $100 for the elbow pipe and ribbed hose together. It looks like it should all fit by the few pics i was able to compare also.

Yeah mate, quite a few of the members have tried it at some time or another, even looked at doing it myself, but seemed to be mixed reviews on the whole thing so focused my efforts into other things on my car.

damn $100 for the intake pipe.....try wreckers man i picked up the whole BA intake including air box except the bit at the throttle body for $60ish (68 i think) and it was a low k fairmont

anyways not sure if the pipe did all the work though if it isnt a placebo then its definently improved response...

i thought $100 seemed a little steep, but it was for both the elbow and the hose as a set, so everything from the throttle body to the airbox. i might ring around and see if anyone has those parts though, do you know where is should start looking? i am in the northern sumburbs, so any good wreckers around there you would recommend?
