Hi all I have been using nokia communicator mobile phones for the past 6 years. I am thinking of getting the 9300 nokia communicator. The main reason is it sends and recieves faxes. Also I can print via the infra red to a printer.
What other options are there? Do these other fancy looking phones do faxing. I have avoided them in the past because of not having the capability. Many of my customers hate email so faxing is essential.

I have an O2 XdaII (same thing as the I-Mate that Telstra sells) and it's pretty cool. It runs Microsoft Pocket PC 2003 so it includes the usual stuff like like notes, contacts, appointments, email, etc. You can also install various stuff into it like GPS/Navigation, weather programs, dictionaries and most importantly... pr0n.
It has Bluetooth and a slot for a Secure Digital card, but the newer one (dunno the exact name) has built in 802.11b WiFi and has I think quad-band mobile support. The XdaII cost me $1215 outright 2 years ago. Salary sacrifice made it only half that... ;)

Whats the point of a Fax in a mobile handset, particularly if you need to get to a printer to make it actually useful. Wouldn't a car fax on a seperate SIM be a lot more user friendly, saves having to talk into a housebrick too.

Also have a look at the Palm Treo 650. They're 850 from officerworks at the moment, have a keypad built in, GSM quadband mobile, and all the usual Palm features. Inbuilt camera, internet, mail as well.
There's also plenty of Palm stuff on the web, currently hunting down a fax driver or something for it. Have put in a database for my work and it's working all sweet. www.palmone.com/au David |

I really dont know anything about this so feel free to jump on me if this is stupid, but wouldnt you just have a laptop with a fax in it and plug just about any mobile into that and then fax away.
