Do you remember the 4x4 'Terra' based on an XH ute?
There was also the Sandfire. There was also a dual cab Territory ute concept, but can't find anything on it...?

toyota corona ute (pick up)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota...ickup_RT40.jpg Like the crown ute, I think they were designed and built in japan, however they were assembled at AMI in Melbourne from CKD. I do remember these utes being around the streets and roads quite a few years ago. Apparently there was a double cab version of the crown & corona utes, very very rare. I don't think these got to Australia. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...cabin_1969.jpg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SuHjc_aqUs |

Late 1980's Brock XF Ute - one made, originally for Shannons Insurance.
http://www.brockfords.com.au/the-brock-ford-ute-article Preceded the XR6 Ute by a few years too. Last edited by Ford17; 01-05-2017 at 08:27 AM. |

One of these were used at Ford broadmeadows by workers within the plant. Heard one was imported to aus for trials but dropped in favour of the XD ute! Regards |

I have probably seen one or two Nissan Utes in my lifetime. The code name was XFN. Not sure where those three letters came from Here, Suzuki Equator was a rebadged Nissan Frontier/Navara.

My nephew in Southern QLD has a Daimler ute around 1970s.At various times has run either a 6 cyl or V12.At an earlier time of its life I'm pretty sure it was engineered with a 350 Chev.

I believe that other 'Australian' Utes which should be included are:
Zephyr Mk1 & 2 Austin A40 Ford Prefect Armstrong Siddeley Vauxhall Velox Valiants (all models) Falcon (XA-FG) I don't believe that many other countries got to see these cars. Also, I'm not 100% certain but I think that the Datsun 1200 ute was a full import. Dr Terry |

Yep its a 'tina.
Not made here although theres a few private imports around. P100 in the UK or a Backkie in Seth Efrica. Plenty of room under the hood for a V8 too.

Re the Cross 8, a very good friend of mine had a brother that worked at HSV. They referred to the Cross 8 as the Cross 3. Why? Because that was how the rear set passengers felt after sitting in that seat for any period of time!

I call those Holden Crewman Utes "Frankenstein". Just a mess of cut and shut panels from the wider Commodore/Statesman/Ute range. Have a look at one in detail, the assortment of shut lines created by joining all those panels is shocking.
