WhenI reverse out of the drive each morning and select drive, there is a hesitation for a second and then it bangs into gear. Is the auto on the way out or can it be adjusted to select smoothly?

Possible that the idle is too high - the hesitation is relatively normal in the BTR but if it's not been serviced regularly then there are other possibilities such as line pressure, fluid level etc.
Cheers Russ

Mine had a hesitation for 2years and finally lost reverse all together about 1 month ago.
Had the gearbox rebuilt and now the hesitation is gone. Never had a problem going forward and was always smooth.

That is exactly what it feels like maka. I will mention that to him. In the past he has mentioned that I am a smooth driver. Hope my FG/2ecolpi lasts as long. I have proved with my Fords going back 30 years that if you put a big cooler on the tranny as soon as you take delivery they will last a long time. People forget that heat is the killer of trannys.
By the way, got a good tan there mate! Regards,...RussellU. |

Good luck when it goes in mate, hope its something simple like what russell w said previously. Yep oil coolers are indispensable & on time transmission services with fresh transmission fluid are too. cheer's, Maka
