Test driving a new Focus in the next couple of days. What are peoples thoughts on the engine and transmission options?
Looking at a Focus Sport, so both the petrol and diesel are the 2 litre. Any problems with these cars that tend to show up after some use?

Had ours for 11 months, approx 14,000km. No problems. Had an update of the software for the Powershift not long after we got the car. Went from good to brilliant. Very Happy.

I have the Diesel Turbo Sport auto with 8K on the clock. Apart from the maps, I could not be happier.

Had my diesel sport for 13 months now. 26,000 kms. No problems at all. A great car, apart from prehistoric maps in GPS.

Have a petrol model with the PowerShift, can't fault it bar the maps, as mentioned above haha. Nearly on 14K now. It hasn't went back to Ford. I quite like the petrol, even after driving a diesel Focus, which goes like a rocket ship! The transmission works harder and you still get plenty of go out of it. If you can afford it though, go diesel. It is a better engine. But again, I'm very happy with my petrol!
