Hi, is there any way to find out a brand of a siren/alarm when there are no markings on the siren unit or the box thats sitting under the dash?
When i bought my AU there was no mention of an alarm fitted at all, there's no extra keypad to arm and disarm it, just the standard smart lock one, the only tell tale signs is the siren in the bay and a key to turn it off, i checked and there are no fuses in the two little fuse boxes that come off the actual unit. It's a nice little surprise but would like to get it working as i'm guessing it won't without the proper key fobs. Any help would be great |

Could it be the smartlock upgrade?

It could be a factory upgrade alarm (aftermarket type), they use your original key remote to arm and disarm the unit.
Mongoose and Dynamco (Cyclops) both make factory upgrade alarms. Any chance of taking a photo? The housing can be take off to see the circuit board. There maybe a model number or brand printed on the board. |

Assuming you bought 2nd hand, it may be a leftover from a handsfree kit?

Well it looks like the car has had a phone kit at one stage, but it's an alarm for sure, just pulled it off the pedal box and took a picture of the label. A second hand alarm? has had tape over it..no screws either, had zip ties holding it together and to the pedal box.

Problem solved, had a look on the Dynamco site and recognised the P485 number.
Just need to get a few fuses for it now! thanks for the help |

Dynamco P485 is the most common aftermarket alarm you will find fitted on the E/A/B series Falcons.
They can be programmed from the ignition barrel. There will also be a 4 pin code which will disable the unit incase you loose your remote fob. In the rare circumstance you arm the alarm and your remote fob dies, it can be turned off by cycling the ignition barrel to input the pin. If you need any help with programming the unit (i.e. silent arming, arm timing, etc..) let me know. |
