Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anybody has managed to mate a ZF 6 Speed Auto to an AU 6 before. After drving the work BFMK2 XR6 for a while it makes you wonder how much of that car really is just transmission, and how much of a difference it would make to the AU... Cheers |

it would take a lot of work, and either a bf dash with icc to control it, i'm pretty sure bf ecu's won't work without the icc, or a trans ecu that can control it. you may also have to "convince" the trans tunnel so it fits in, not to mention driveshafts, etc that are probably also different

Check out FTG's BA Tsunami wagon build in the site sponsor forums. They got the ZF to fit in the BA tunnel without mods IIRC. If the tunnel was redesigned for the BF then the BA tunnel would be the same as the AU?

Last guy who put a ZF in his BA spend $8000 with the auto, all new computer and wiring. The ZF has its own computer and for it to work it needs to communicate with the car's ecu, the only way i can see a ZF in an AU is fitting a BF engine in the car as well as the ZF.
