Holy crap. If that's true that is astonishing (but is it true)
http://www.vaiden.net/rocket_gokart.html Check the above site for a photo of a jet powered go Kart leading a tyre smoking dragster. The kart eventually ran a 5.95 quarter at more than 240mph.

If they get seperated the parachute is simply there to catch the bits of him that come off.

Here is a photo of Rosco McGlashan's rocket kart, which ran a 5.97 @ 253mph in the states. He couldn't run it in Australia because the US government would not allow the fuel to be exported (remember the cold war was still on!) It is now in a museum in Fremantle |

Back in the "old days" what we'd consider a "Phat burnout bro" was actually the best way to get the damn things off the line. Smoking the tires to 1/4 track was not unusual....

IIRC the rocket kart was banned form usage due to the danger of it going UNDER the then armco style barriers at most drag strips.. i believe somone died in the us on one and as a direct result, they were banned. again IIRC ;)

Damn...i do like. who would be mad enough to stick one on aROAD car though? :
speaking of things we'd like...i came across a lovely set of wheels that would look damn fine on a car...but unfortunatly they are only available for 4x4's/SUV's : pimpstar alloys |
