Hi all,
I have a '08 Focus TDCI with 95000km on the clock. Been going great until about 1000km ago when it started to get really noisy, heaps of diesel clatter. I had it serviced 2500km ago and have always serviced it on time. Any ideas??? |

Maybe try some injector cleaner, we've had real good results with the genuine Toyota cleaner (in the brushed aluminium bottle).

i've been getting it serviced by a local guy who specialises in european cars. Its services every 10 to 12,000km.
I'll try the injector cleaner. |

Mines really clattery on cold starts, and recently more so when warm, and sounds like slight lifter/rocker noise when on the accelerator slightly at low RPM.

Noise has gotten worse.
It now has a loud knocking noise at idle and sounds bad with even light throttle. Still has good power. Time to find a good mechanic. Anyone know of someone in Frankston Vic area? |

Well, just got the news from the mechanic, it's the clutch.
Very bad news since the Focus uses a dual mass flywheel, the parts are $1600 and have been quoted around $800 in labour. Anyone got a spare $2400 lying around??? Hunting around for a better price. |

Dual mass flywheels are ********.
I wonder if you could do a normal flywheel conversion while its all apart? Would save you all this junk later on in the future. |

Thanks,
I'm used to importing parts from the UK since i have a Land Rover Discovery and there are heaps of suppliers there. At under half the price sounds like the way to go. |
