Not sure if this is specific to the ST with the power button, but hopefully other models with push button start have the same issue, so might know an answer to save our summer trips to the drive in.
With what seems to be a 10 minute cut off on the accessory position of the radio when the engine isn't running, is there a way to override that so we can still go to the drive in without the engine running for nearly 6 hours? With my Lancer, even though it was keyless it still had a knob that I could keep in acc position, and just start the engine at intermission for a little while. Can't seem to find a way around it on the Focus. |

You can turn the radio on without having the ACC on, just push the on/off button on the radio

Hmm, yeah, I'll try that method again, but I think that still only gave me 20 minutes before it shutdown again.
Maybe I pressed the power buttons in the wrong order or something. |

What aratic said.
I had mine on for more than 20mins (i think) one day while cleaning it. Just open the door, hit the power button for the radio, and it should stay on. Once you press the ignition power button, it overrides and will turn off after 10mins once you power off the ignition Alternatively you can just hit the ignition power button (no clutch) so it turns the car into the ON position. You will have all the icons lit up on the dash, and the DRLs will be on, but that shouldnt matter (although im not sure how long you would get from the battery if all that stuff is on... also not sure what the other people at the drive in would think with the DRLs being left on)
