Two of my daughters went last night and said the Adelaide show went off!
Brilliant show, they have been waiting around 5 months since they got in and bought their tickets on the first day they were released, they were so excited that it was actually on.

While I am going, so it makes me bias as all hell, you are wrong.

Rise against, who are the main reason I am going to taste of chaos, are a punk band from chicago, and they actually don't whinge and moan about college and parents or anything along those lines.

Their current most popular song (wich is actaully quite old), is called "swing life away" it would be worth the download so you could get an idea of what they are singing about before you voice an un-educated opinon.
Swing life away actually refers to the ability to have very little and be extremly content in life, and is a very slow and melodic.
Rise Againsts' other songs refer to the ability to be strong and keep going through dificult situations, and occasioanally to political matters, largely revolving around George Bush.

Story of the year, are slighly more melodic compared to most of Rise Againsts material, and the majority of their song revolve around being down and finding the ability within to pick yourself back up and get everything back on track.

I'd go on about the other bands, but I've made my point.

So quite the contreary to the opinion you voiced, unfortunately as it was said, opinons are like assholes, everyone has one. Even if they are talking about something they don't know about.

P.S I am 22, have astraight hair cut, natural blonde and happily live with my parents while I study Science at Uni, I listen to Punk/Jazz/R&B/Old Rock/New Age and Dance My collection includes things from Black Sabbath to Barry White to Ella Fitzgerald to Eminem to Hunter & Collectors to Metallica to Rage Against The Machine to Rise Against right down to Missy Higgins. Variety is the spice of life!

Since i have an *******, i will say that Punk music is pathetic. Same vocal note, same riffs, same drumming pace. I have an extensive taste of music... metal.. 60's pop... classical... jazz... i just cant listen to screemo "hardcore" look a likes.

well in the case of rise against, and even story of the year, "screemo" would be a severe genralisation, and "hardcore" would be far from something which they are attempting to represent.

It's sad that people, in genral (not directly reffering to anyone on these forums) allow stereotypical representations cloud their decisions prior to actually deciding something for themselves.

I respect the whole "screemo" thing, to me Kill Switch Engage, who are on the Taste of Chaos tour do very much fall in this catagory. But specfically dogging punk music due to globalisations is pathetic in itself.

Then again you enjoy what you enjoy, I just get more annoyed when people say things along the lines of ...

"It's crap 'cause they all have shaved heads and die their hair balck, and blame their parents and moan and whinge about school and life" Becasuse simply, it is not true!

Hey mate, very well said, heaps of people just stereotyping bands they havnt heard about. All those people that call story of the year and rise against emo pfft thats just rediculous. You probably havnt even heard any of their music or of the bands before. Go get story of the year's new album and i doubt you'll be calling it emo for much longer. I dont critise you on your music, so please dont critisise us on ours. :

Alot of my mates are going.

I would go to see KSE, Rise Against and Story of the Year, but GREATLY dislike The Used, Emo stuff really ticks me off. Seeing there are a million of those emo's wandering about with their Cuts and Clothes, all they do is whinge.

For me, it's classic Rock, Punk, and abit of Metal. :sm_headba
