hi guys,
my 08 LT is quite bumpy on the rough road surface (comparing to my old Golf, which was smooth as). just wondering what I could do to reduce it ? replace the coil, tyre , or else ? And what is the benefit of having a 17" wheel instead of the stock 15" ? thanks |

could try loweing the tyre pressure to about 32ish,
apart from asthesiastics no real benifit imho. not with the newer models foci' tyre size so. like i would imagine that the 15" would be a little more smoother and softer nut i wouldnt be able to indicate how much so....

Be thankful you don't have the Zetec suspension, it's a real bone shaker.
17" wheels will have 40 profile tyres and make the ride harsher again. Most folks would prefer a nippy handler than an armchair don't you agree? Personally I have the Zetec and love it. |

i have an 04 zetec and i dont find the suspension too stiff at all. i'd actually prefer something a bit firmer (but im a hooligan p-plater).
but if it does get to you, you could try buying some aftermarket shocks to replace the factory items. most aftermarket shocks would be harder than the factory ones (i think), so you want something adjustable so you can set it to 'soft' for the daily grind and firm it up for track days or the like. i suggest you talk to a reputable suspension shop before you buy anything though. |

Golf is a bit more plush than the Focus' sportiness; its to be expected.
I found the CL with 15" tyres a very very smooth ride. I'll try to take a video tomorrow and show you how much worse the bumpiness is with King Superlow springs.
