I'm told that not all alloy rocker covers will fit the AUII 220 EFI Windsor. I was hoping to use Ford Performance Racing units. Will they fit?

The biggest problem you have is the clearance to the throttle body linkages. Most motorsport covers are 3 inch and over and the low cover on late model injected is 2 inch. You can buy injected 5.0 covers but you pay for them. I have a different inlet manifold than you but the most height I could go to was just over 2 and 3/4 inches before fouling linkages.
So the answer is yes but they must suit injected 5.0 HO type engine |

Yep - and you need to get the truck ones. I'll see if I can get the part number I put on mine. Also you need to bend one of the metal pipes under the manifold for clearance, or use a 1/2" phenolic spacer.

Here's the info I worked through when I was looking for mine:
Well, I had a small problem with the order from the US, so I go onto Southside Ford (07-33910141) in Bris-Vegas. Cost a little more than I could source them from the US, but now I should have them by the end of the week instead of in 1 to 3 months! Just so that others know - any of the M-6000 series will fit EB to AU 5.0 motors. the Ford Racing catalogue can be found at: http://www.fordracingparts.com/home/home.asp. There's a link to the catalogue near the top left of the screen. I ended up ordering the M-6582-A351R rockers and the 1/2" plenum spacer (M-9486-A52) from Raceparts Australia (07-38076870). Single Rocker The pair in the box Phenolic Spacer

Same as what i have just bought for my XR8. I also bought mine through raceparts australia same as you JC. I dealt with Mike there and he was great to deal with. I think from memory mine cost me $370 including freight to Tas. But i also bought the Ford Racing billet oil cap in that price too.

Agreed i bought the Ford Motorsport ones and they were $350..
I too needed to fit a 3/8 phenolic spacer, bought from trickflow, For an edelbrock manifold and they also do the Ford spacers and uses studs and nylocks insead of bolts.. Way more professional imho

Thanks for the info. What is the "phenolic spacer" for. Is it just to give clearance, or does it have a performance benifit?

its basically a spacer that doesnt soak up or transfer heat. You put it between the upper and lower manifolds and stops the heat transfer to the upper plenum or "heatsoak" You can really feel the difference in temps with one fitted
