Hey guys,
A fair while ago my passenger side front window stopped working. After playing around with cleaning switches and trying other switches, I finally came to the conclusion that it was probably the motor. I have finally decided to buy another and fit it myself. A few questions!: 1) I was wondering if you guys knew how hard it was to replace. Is this a job I can do myself? 2) Any fangdangled ford specific tools i need to swap over motors? 3) Has anyone done this a few times and could give me some pointers?

Tools you need are Phillips/Flathead screwdrivers and a 10mm socket all basic stuff. All you need to do is to change the regulator assembly is to: Take off the door trim remove the sound deadener. Then unclip the window off the reg by using two Flathead screwdrivers to unclip it then pull the window all the way up and tape it at the top to hold it out of the way Then undo the three 10mm nuts holding the reg motor on the door and the four 10mm bolts at the top and bottom Then maneuver the reg assembly out of the door To install is the opposite of the removal

Try this first, press the switches on and off 31 times and see if that works.
I know it sounds stupid but give it a try as it supposed to reset the motor or something. You never know, you might save yourself $50-100. |
