In one word, no.
We'll be fortunate enough to update both current daily drivers before 2016 comes along so that defers the decision until 2020 at least. Certainly the FG will be likely replaced with another Falcon based equivalent but the Territory is already under review in favour of an Expedition if they find their way here. When the next round after that comes we'll look at what is available but another 300C SRT8 would be a starter before anything else. Cheers Russ

It's also being spread by Michael Devereux. Chief Executive of Holden, so it's probably true.

You of all people know I don't get on here bashing Fords....I have an unbiased opinion towards all makes and models....I own both makes and I fix all makes.....So if anything, I hate them all, but it keeps food on my table and me off the dole.....So I wonder how many ex-Ford employees are going to be less fortunate than me? If it's 1 it's 1 too bloody many...

They go hand in hand
Failing that, it's also Hawthorn supporters, I've found. I am still undecided if I would resort to this, as the association with subhumans is something I'd rather avoid. I still love Ford first and foremost. |

Remember when Ford had financial issues BEFORE the financial crisis ??
They changed BEFORE it hit the fan !!! I think the SAME thing is going on here !! New cars will be hatch back type cars, small station wagon SUV type were Mum can stuff all her groceries in without issue.. Plus be a $18 - $32K vehicle at that !!! Two box front wheel drive construction is so much easier, cheaper to make !! I can [hopefully] see the time when Holden sales people see new Fords driving past there showrooms... Wishing they had changed before Ford ...Ford just MAY have a jump on them ...

After some of the crap I've read from Holden supporters this week, it's a resounding NO!

I own both Holden's and Fords and prefer to support local industry.
But what locally made car is going to tow my two and a half tonne boat? I hope the Terry is carried right through to 2016 however tipping money into a company that's already bolted seems like a waste. I already feel betrayed after buying my current Terry. |

the funny thing is that for all of ford na's sabotaging of ford aus and receiving half of the money gm aus has, that brand will only manufacture cars for a few short years after ford aus stop . . . . they are in the same situation as ford aus, they just had a bigger fan base to start with the drop for them is just as sharp as the ford aus drop it is a major pity as far as jobs go, because it isn't just ford, toyota and the other brand's jobs - it is the suppliers and the knock on effect when so many thousands of people no longer have spending money not really sure how the government/s allowed this to happen |

Funny part is washing machine or white goods sell They (toyota) have been in the top seller list for decades, they are on the ball, they make what people buy, boring soulless and reliable cars (Did I mention better resale, demand and value as well) Cant argue with the majority wanting washing machines Soulless, boring, reliable, that's what sells What are any others offering ??? Nothin, why because they will all be closed soon So chalk one up to "Washing machine manufacturing" |

Has Holden themselves said the VF is the last aussie commodore? If yes any links to that story, or is it just more rubbish from the media.

Michael Devereux said they were committed to the 2017 VJ in April but now says NOTHING is set in stone. I certainly wouldn't bet on it!

If VE Commodores onwards were really meant to last for another decade or so, surely Holden would have started a new model code (eg YA, or AA) for models post the VZ, as they have mostly always done. To me, using up these stray V* codes seemed to be an inside joke; as if to say this will be the last one. |

Is the Ranger made in Australia? ...
I should have specified, it's the wife's daily, she doesn't want a ute, and a large wagon is far more practical for us, 7 seats etc. Last edited by aZ`; 25-05-2013 at 06:44 PM. |

No but it was designed and engineered here.
Ranger based 4WD wagon is being developed.
