Thank you thank you for all the suggestions....Ive picked some out and passed to the missus for her reading....
Shelby was an early one I picked. I LOVE IT. Im going to fail to name my existing kids here as I dont need search engine food for the missus to locate my activities and what I've done to my car lately!! One at least is quite unique.

Yes I do but in the current multiculural society uncommon name spelling is a fact of life...txt speak ****s me as well, but names vary greatly depending on your culture and age..Maybe were both in a snippy mood today....
It was also my Great Aunts Name and I know she wasnt into txt speak thats for sure lol

Simpsons:
Amanda Huginkiss Maya Buttreeks Anita Bath Ivana Tinkle Star Control II (best game ever) I say use the alien race names... * Androsynth * Arilou (short for Ariloulaleelay) * Chenjesu * Chmmr * Dnyarri (THe most evil creature ever. Perfect for a ruthless dictator child). * Druuge * Ilwrath * Melnorme (Melnormay) * Mmrnmhrm (Mern-Merm) * Mycon * Orz * Pkunk * Shofixti * Slylandro * Spathi ("Scope" is probably a better word than this one. What does Scope mean to you?) * Supox (not contageous) * Syreen * Thraddash (probably more of a boy's name) * Umgah * Ur-Quan: * Kzer-Za * Kohr-Ah * Utwig (the best ship, but too close to "earwig") * VUX * Yehat * Zoq-Fot-Pik (probably not a valid choice here) |

Recently heard of twin girls, whose parents had a very "floral" surname... they intended to call them
Mifamway Tiger-Lily and Honey Rose. :ticking: Ended up changing Mifamway to Amelia. It astounds me that these people aren't pulled up by the desk jockeys at BDM, or their families, or someone... WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! |

My wife liked Ashleigh & her best friend is Leanne so Daughter No 1 was called "Ashlea" combination of the two , & she chose her second name after my mother's second name "Pearl". Ashlea is proud of that we chose this as she really looks up to her grandmother.
Daughter No 2 is Naomi Louise , only problem was kids at highschool worked out if you reverse her first name you get "I-moan" . Trust kids to find it :yeees: Other names we considered were :- Peta , Sara , Jillian . Others liked :- Shelley , Amber , Felicity, Gaye, Hayley , Tammy . Another thing to consider is how it matches your Surname....

Some good names in here, all 3 of my kids have strong celtic names to reflect their heritage. Its good to see people thinking outside the square for their kids names. Different names are far more accepted these days as well.

That's it! My name is Christine, my mum hated it but my dad wanted it. They were convinced I was going to be a boy and hadn't finalised a girls name, when I was born, dad said it's Christine, and mum was too tired to argue. Or do what a friend of mine's dad did. He wanted Meaghan, and her mum wanted Amanda. While she was still in hospital, he filled out the birth registry forms and sent them in. Meaghan, no middle name! |
