Such a sad sad say. There will never be a Ford president as good as Geoff. Everything the man touched turned to Gold. He single handedly went through every Ford department and turned it around into a profitable entity. I truly beleive that he wasn't far from becoming Ford global CEO. Im sure, given time, the man would have weaved his magic and got Ford US back on it's feet like no one else.

Oh man that's ruined my day.

I too remember him posting back in the days of BON and the other forum.. such an awesome bloke. For myself, I was probably around 14 yearsold durring the days of BON, and to be on the same Forum as the Head of Ford Aus and being able to chat to him probably went along way to my becoming the blueblooded Ford nut I am now.

Condolances to his family, RIP Uncle Geoff. The man who saved Ford Aus, he'll always be known as the man the gave us the BA and Territory, but the now legendary Inline6 Turbo.

RIP Geoff. The photo I had taken with him when he presented me my vehicle industry certificate will remain on the shelf in tribute to a great leader and a man who's passion for the blue oval was remarkable.

Lets hope his last ride will be in a Fairlane.

I doubt FoA will get a GM that had as big a passion as Geoff did.

May he rest in peace and I feel for his family.

Wow, what a shock. I didn't know that he was battling cancer.

Rest in peace Geoff. Thank you for the fantastic Fords that were created under your watch.

And when you get there, say hi to Henry, Bill and Howard for me.

We have been advised that the funeral will be held at the MCG on Monday 28th April, 2008 at 11:00 a.m - the exact room to be used is yet to be advised.

The family have requested that those wishing to honour his memory can do so by making a donation to the Cancer Council of Victoria or the Royal Childrens Hospital and we, as a forum, will be electing to do so.

Ford Australia will be setting up a location where cards can be sent which will then be forwarded to the family - I will advise these details when they are available.

Regards
Russ

this is sad
i had a meeting with him a few years ago when he was trying to sell my work Fords
i sent him a letter telling him he was preaching to the converted as i have owned evey model falcon
when we got to Ford HQ after the meeting we inspected the assembly line and there at the end of it was the 1st BA gt off the line, Geoff thought i would like the oppotunity to sit in it
he was right

top man who did a top job
very few and far between
