my mums Mercedes E350 elegance, leather and power everything and 7 speed auto with sequential. defiantly the most comfortable and the car with the most buttons u can press, will take u a life time to figure out all the features of that car.

have i driven it for more than 1 minute? dont think so... (got my chance to drive it down the road and back when she forgot the keys at home and left me and the car alone lol).

This 450 sel just keeps coming up....I bought one 2 years ago for $900, my F100 spat it and I needed a tow vehicle, it was only going to be temporary, but the car is simply sensational. Its got over 400,000 k's on it, yet pulls like a small train and just glides over everything. My girlfriend and I did a trip from brisbane to sydney towing a car trailer, and two months later did the same trip without a trailer in a new ba falcon. She whinged that the merc was more comfortable! the seats in the merc are just crap...but still the ride is better. Don't get me wrong, I've driven some exotic new stuff and sure there no doubt much better....but I wonder if they will still rate a mention after 30 years and 400,000kms, when all the gismo's are stuffed and all your left with is the worn out ride. Because that's what my 450sel is, no air-con, leaky power steer, no cruise and only three of the windows work. But if i'm going somewhere far away, i'm going in that! amazing.

A8 Audi. Fast, smooth, very fast, very good note, throwing into corners was just incredible. Oh and did I mention is was extremely quick as it was the quickest standard car I have ever driven!

Daimler double-six (V12) original, upmarket version of the V12 Jag.
Rolls Royce - very smooth, quiet
Citeron DS14 (?) - this was 20+yrs ago, hydraulic suspension (RR used a variant) and an amazing gearbox. Wonderful as long as it was running.

Feel sorry for you mate, my nan n pop own a 07 E350 Elegance with the 7 Speed and all the stuff that, they spend probably 6 months of the year on holidays so for most of that time I take possesion for the car as dad prefers to drive his GT, great car to drive around in, love playing with all the gadgets, also good to rock up at school in it and sit in it at lunch with the heaters on full blast and watch dvds with friends. :

My uncle had a 2001 Saab 9-5, which was pretty good I thought.

I've gone blank, that's the only car that comes to mind that I was impressed with at the time.

Id have to say its my mum's VW Eos fsi, it has stiff suspension but not too stiff so the ride is still soft enough to absorb decent bumps and be very comfortable, the build quality is awsome so theres no road noise or rattles and for a turbo 4cyl it has loads of torque so it makes driving effortless.

7 Series BMW....

These luxo European things are absolute coocoons against the outside world, you can't hear a thing including the horns of the people you just cut off because you have changed lanes accidently playing with the gadgets and gizmo's....

That said Aussies do a brilliant blend of handling and comfort at a price that cannot be beat.
