Old cars don't do it as much 'cos they were designed to be driven with all the windows down (no a/c as standard). I drive my '69 Javelin and Phoenix with all windows down (pillarless cars are cool!) and it's nothing major .. it only gets bad if there is a big crosswind ..

She was DD one night after I had quite a few drinks ... and bloody hell it was loud ... felt like my head was going to explode ... and it had nothing to do with the alcohol either.

I can honestly tell everybody that this is not a Ford Design Flaw, my mum has a 2003 VY Commodore and it does the exact same thing from 40km/h upwards and don't ever have the rear windows down above 40km/h when there is a crosswind as it almost makes your eardums explode.

its just air pressure fluctuation..
just like when a helicopters blades are flapping around making... a pressure fluctuation.. wind all 4 down ALL THE WAY and you wont have this problem fronts always have to be down more than the rears to stop the problem

I get the chopper effect if one or two windows are open a little bit and it's very windy outside, otherwise no such effect occurs in the Fairlane.
