I have made it known before since moving from Vic to Qld ten years ago, Qld drivers are some of the worst I have seen in 40 years driving. Just today, I drove north from Burleigh to home south of Brisbane, a distance of around 60klms. I cam across a tradie in a ute (Holden, of course) who sat in the right lane all the way. Although he sat on the speed limit, he had no consideration for anyone else on the road. Everyone was forced to go around him to the left and dispite the flashes he get from other drivers, he just sat there in the right lane. I think most people have no idea what the rule is in most states relating to the right lane, they figure, "I'm sitting on the speed limit, I don't have to move".

There is (provided traffic is flowing) no reason to sit in the fast lane on a multi lane freeway and get undertaken. I always assumed it was common knowledge to keep left unless overtaking. I also get a tad irritated at people who on open roads choose not to use cruise control yet constantly overtake then slow down, causing me to get off cruise, resume, overtake, only to get overtaken then have to get off cruise again.

I agree.
I set my cruise on 100 and downhill it usually only creeps up to about 103/104. Too slow for the ******** behind so he passes. Up the hill he slows down to 80. Meanwhile on my cruise control...

You guys need to invest in a car fitted with adaptive cruise; all of your frustrations will be solved (or at least those with having to constantly get on and off the cruise control )

My thoughts exactly. I feel sorry for her that she was a victim of domestic violence and she should never have been put in that situation.

However I also feel she tried using this incident for her 5 minutes of fame to promote her business or her book. She knew exactly what she was doing when she posted that video.

Why? If someone attacks you with a saucepan and knocks you over the head, you don't think you're justified in picking up a knife to put a stop to the attack, by whatever means necessary?

The response must be proportionate.

If someone invades your house for example you can't just shoot.
You can and will be charged with murder.

Domestic violence should rightly be abhorred but you can't go around killing people over it.

When someone tries to kill you by hitting you over the head with a saucepan, defending yourself with a weapon sounds like a proportionate response to me. Particularly if it's your bigger and stronger husband trying to kill you.

Domestic violence should rightly be abhorred but you can't go around killing people over it.

I very strongly disagree. Domestic violence that threatens your life - as a blow to the head does - sounds like a justified reason to bury a knife in your attacker. It appears that the legal system also agrees as she was found not guilty.
