Hey everyone
to the mechanics and mechanically minded out there... I've read all over the place that it's a good idea to replace he gearbox oil every 100K km regardless of make / model. This is not something that I have found manufacturers to ever recommend, which to me does not make sense - it's oil, it has a life span, it will undoubtedly contain debris as you will undoubtedly crunch a gear or two (and not admit to it in public of course!). Thoughts on this? If it is a good idea and / or recommended I was thinking of do it at the same time as by brakes over the Xmas days off. I'll be doing it with a couple of friends, and may even get to use someone's workshop (power tools!! ![]() Cheerio Ali. |

100,000km ?
Imo if you're a car enthusiast, you'd change the transmission oil much more often than once every 100,000km. ![]() I plan to change mine on the 45,000km service. |

Well, there we go - thanks Imolator for the answer.
Like Ives, I'd like to change it, but if it's sealed, it's sealed! |
