My wagon does and does not have the problem. It really depends on the height on the rear windows. Today I drove with the front and the rear driver side down. No problems.

I can honestly tell everybody that this is not a Ford Design Flaw, my mum has a 2003 VY Commodore and it does the exact same thing from 40km/h upwards and don't ever have the rear windows down above 40km/h when there is a crosswind as it almost makes your eardums explode.

its just air pressure fluctuation..

just like when a helicopters blades are flapping around making... a pressure fluctuation..

wind all 4 down ALL THE WAY and you wont have this problem
fronts always have to be down more than the rears to stop the problem

I get the chopper effect if one or two windows are open a little bit and it's very windy outside, otherwise no such effect occurs in the Fairlane.
