Cool Simple Key Rings

Can anyone recommend a brand or source of exactly that?

Key rings of similar size to that supplied with many Oz Fords. Non corroding. Sturdy. No tags or gimmicks or promo doodads, just plain key rings in nickel or chrome plate, or stainless.

You mean just the ring itself ? Split ring I think they are called.

Bunnings quality usually disappoints; I’m hoping someone has found a particular item they are pleased with.

Originally I thought places like Whitworths might have had simple rings in stainless, but they have only carabiners and rings with buoyancy aids. I mention stainless because most electroplating on smaller, cheaper items is now rubbish thanks to its country of origin.

It could come to that. Looking online I can get 25mm stainless (most common size from my measuring) for $40/100 - but I don’t necessarily see that quantity as a challenge to increase the size of my fleet. ;-)

Yeah, cheap ones are made of thin gauge wire and don’t have much spring in them, they easily deform/lose their spring. Good quality ones are thick gauge, at least 1 mm diameter wire at a guess, and heaps of spring in them, takes a bit of force to open them up.
Shoe repairer/key cutter should have them. Otherwise try anywhere that sells keys rings with whatever silly large motif on them, remove the chunky ring. Just looked at supercheap, they have heaps of them, some of them look like they got a chunky ring.
For a really chunky high quality one try a camping fishing store. edit. Just had a look at that large camping/fishing franchise, camping ones are quality, fishing ones probably even better for corrosion. Same for yachting saling shop, they should have split rings and you can be sure its high grade stainless.

Aldi also sometimes have them as an assortment in special buys. Their quality seems OK.

These might be okay; they have a good selection of sizes, but the exchange rate and international shipping might make it uneconomical - at least 50% more than your $40 per 100 units:

These look good for the toolkit:
