Votes for the Marston Medal have just been collected in the press box. Any guess as to who it may be?

Substitution for Melbourne Archie Thompson makes way for Kristian Sarkies, it's a standing ovation for the five-goal hero. 89th min Melbourne are just passing the ball around, the crowd catch on and start the "Ole!"

Everyone is pouring on onto the field for Melbourne and it's hugs everywhere. Suits, physios, coaches, players, everyone is elated! FULL TIME Adelaide kickoff and the final whistle goes! 6-0 to Melbourne! The players hug out on the field, it's delight for Melbourne, Adelaide just stand with hands on heads, they can't believe what hit them.

Long drive home for supporters
disgusting performance by adelaide players coach should be sacked for being a d***head and not being a team man he has created controversy most of the year and has dragged team down to his level by being unavailable to coach on field I haven't given him credit for getting the boys to the gf, the boys did that themselves |

I just got home from the game...
I thought Ross Aloisi's post-match speech was garbage. He said, "It's a shame the game was ruined early." It was ruined because he decided to elbow people. Stiff cheddar. Cop it. Kosmina...people need to realise that he's a good coach in the domestic league. Don't ever forget that for the time being. But he's just a big scrotum. He needs to control himself. And what's wrong with a big bandwagon? There will be many Victory Supporters who have been to many games this season and missed out on tickets while people who have hardly been will get a ticket. That's the injustice. It was a crap game though. Sure, I loved the result and really enjoyed it, but a Grand Final, especially in a low-scoring game should be close. But 6-0...Adelaide pooed their undies. Absolutely pooed. The match 2 weeks ago, Adelaide's defence was watertight and we were VERY fortunate to win. Tonight, 5/6 of the goals were 1 on 1s with the goal keeper. A good defence should never do that. I thought Costanzo was very good 2 weeks ago...was best on ground, but he didn't have the same dominance tonight. Their defence leaked like a sieve. The Adelaide goal keeper had a tough night. I don't think he did all that much wrong. A goalie who faces that many 1 on 1s is never going to block every single goal, unless he's just having a 1 in a million night. Overall, good to see Melbourne Victory win the premiership and although Adelaide was good opposition, we thoroughly deserved it. I wouldn't mind seeing another club win the premiership next season (other than Melbourne or Sydney) to help the other clubs grow like Melbourne has. We are caning everybody in memberships, merchandising and most important, attendance. Adelaide is healthy, as is Sydney. Wouldn't mind Newcastle winning. I thought they were unlucky not to make the Grand Final. Oh well. I'll take this one. Now, I just want Geelong to win a bloody premiership. |

Geelong is too casual. They need to actually take it seriously. Stop being a giggly incest town and realise that they're in the big time. They need to start performing. And get rid of James Kelly. He thinks he's a top gun, but he's just a fool...and he can't kick. |

What a game!
I was always confident we were going to win, but 6-0, not in my wildest dreams. Awesome crowd, great atmosphere. Great season MVFC, absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Fair play to the AUFC fans for keeping up the support of your boys even when the scoreboard got ugly. Too bad Kosimna and Aloisi can't be gracious in defeat. We're champions we're champions we're champions over here!

Yes pity it was a rout of a win, easy picking's for Archie but that's what he's meant to do. Congrats for the 5 goals,it will never be matched.
The last goal was the pearla ! Pity Adelaide couldn't match Victory but they were faster hence the late tackles etc during the first period. I think Adelaide played their GF against Newcastle. As for the blatent late hit by Aloisi, what a frigging joke, ok do that in the rounds but in the GF ? Something I wouldn't want on my resume. While on Aloisi his prtner in crime imo is Muscat !! Always been a thug and in some instances an embarassment what he has done while playing for our country. Pity he's in the winning side. All in all top stuff having a record crowd and Victory were the team to beat all season well done.

But I agree with you. If he was opposition, I reckon I would hate him. And Cougar-Boy...don't be so blase. Adelaide are a lot better than you give credit for. Melbourne could have either been playing the Grand Final in Adelaide, or even out of the finals race as we could have easily lost to Newcastle. The fact that Adelaide nearly beat us in the Melbourne leg of the Semi Final speaks a lot of Adelaide and what they can do on their day. The Grand Final version of Adelaide was an aberration. There's a difference to not liking a team/somebody within, and not respecting. At least they were good enough to make the Grand Final...6 others were not. |

I don't think it pays to cheer that John Kosmina has been sacked. I have nothing against the man.
Sure, he's brash and rude. But I think he is a good coach. He does what he has to for success. A pity that it wasn't what the club wanted. But I wish Kosmina the best for the future. |

I think it was a good idea for the club to get rid of him. Kosmina was supposed to be the leader of the club and he has led the players down a path of it being all right to mouth off. We as a club are now gonna be thought of as sore losers and whingers from now on and it will take years for that to go away.
Most of the fans have wanted this for over a year and are quite happy that it has happened. The worst thing is that he has probably annoyed a few of our younger players aswell as a few of our decent players to the point of them wanting to leave. Aloisi has only been sacked as captain and has 1 more year on his contract when I would think he will retire. We have one of the most talented line ups in the league and Kosmina always had his favourites that he would pick, so the decent players never got a run.
