I took my AUII Fairmont Ghia to the Snowy last week and the door knob has ceased working correctly. I now need to press the central lock button twice to make it pop up - and to lock the door, pressing the button once works sometimes and not others. Could this be caused by moisture in the door trim somehow, can it be fixed by a keen handyperson with little knowledge, or do I need to have the door actuator replaced at a cost of $260.00 ? What does the Door Actuator look like, someone on ebay is selling a set of 4 for 0.01c ?
