'The former high-profile Federal Court judge Marcus Einfeld has pleaded guilty to making false statements over a $77 speeding fine. In the Supreme Court today, Einfeld pleaded guilty to the two charges. ... In 2006, Einfeld had successfully challenged a $77 speeding fine he had received when his silver Lexus was clocked doing 60 kmh in a 50kmh zone in a Mosman street. On that occasion, Einfeld told the court that a friend, Professor Teresa Brennan, had his car. It later transpired that Professor Brennan had died in a car accident three years earlier.' It's pretty despicable behaviour, if you ask me... all over $77? : I would insert some comment about these are the people that are enforcing the fines... but he was a Federal judge, not State. |
