Just wondering if anyone knows how many recalls and for what there have been on the AU series 1, I have had my car since new and have only had one recall notice sent to me.
Why I'm asking this is that I read somewhere in the forums here that there was a recall to do with the steering rack and it seems that was a while ago. any info would be good Jsmilie: |

yeah, there was a recall for the steering rack, i got the recall 2 years after i had to dish out $1800 to fix the problem and ford has given me the run around about getting re-embursed. the steering rack came off of the subframe and completely lost all steering capabilities, i was lucky that i was only doing 5 km/h at the time. I'd suggest that you get it checked out asap, if this happens at any sort of reasonable speed you be f*^#%*.

Mine's had three recalls according to the stickers inside the door, PRGC161A (15/7/99), SRCC183 (15/7/99) and SRCC300 (09/07/04).
I found out from the links that SRCC300 was for the steering rack mounting stud, SRCC183 was for incorrectly torqued front spindle upper ball joints, but I can't find anywhere what the PRGC161A recall was for. It was done at the same time as the upper ball joints, I'm curious to find out what it was for. Anyone else know what it was for or have this recall? Cheers, Matt. edit: I just found out the prefic PRGC instead of SRCC means that it wasn't a recall, but a service campaign. Still no idea what for though!
