Default 5.0ltr au serpentine belt

hi all
how do u adjust the tension on the serpentine belt.?
which pulley does the job?
its on a 2000 au fairmont ghia. 5.0ltr

i need to replace the idler pulley.
can u get a bearing for it or do u have do replace the whole pulley?

Should be able to change the bearing I've done them on my AU xr.

not sure about the v8's, but on an I6 you have to replace the whole thing, it's a sealed unit. As for the tensioner, if it's the same as the 6's then it should have a spring loaded pulley somewhere that you push in to release the tension

the tensioer is self adjusting, use a 1/2 or 3/8 (cant remember) drive socket to 'lever' the tensioner pulley and release the belt pressure, its on the drivers side beneth the alternator.

Pretty sure it's a 3/8 drive that does it.
