Default Will you get an Orion at launch ?

When the new 08 Falcon is released (codenamed 'Orion' for any who don't know) will you get one in the first few launch months, or wait a while ?

Vote and post your comments...

Not a good idea to get the first of the series 1's. I'd rather wait for the series 2 to come out. Saying that, if I had the funds ready I'd probably be tempted to dive in.

Probably get a BF2 runout, wait a year or two, see how they are.

Saying that if I like it, new car is due then, so probably test drive it, go from there.

Just don't like the massive depn you cop.

That's if I don't get an Escape or Tribute instead of a Falcon... :yeees:

I just brought a new car in Feb and my Territory is only a year old.

I dont think I would buy a Falcon based sedan anyway. When its time to replace the Territory I will looking at what Chrysler/Dodge have available in sedans.

Early series 1 buyers usually finish the R&D and find the problems that Ford should have found.

- EA
- AU Series 1
- BA Series 1

Unfortunate, but true...

exactly right, think i might look at something else other than a falcon, but if Orion proves to be decent (won't hold my breath) then i may consider series 2 or even 3 ;)

Surely not. According to the more opinionated here, Holdens are the only manufacturer with teething problems. Besides the Orion is just a new skin and gadgets on an existing platform.... isn't it?

I bought one of the first 6.0 litre WM Caprices to roll off the production line and I can guarantee that I have had 6 months of trouble free motoring. And there's no doubt that when the Orion GT is released I'll be waiting in line to get one as soon as I can so I can park it next to my lux-o-barge.

Besides the brakes (which I've upgraded), I have never had a problem with either the forte (RIP) or the XR6. Both of which were built in august 98

im taking work car (ute) here...

will i buy 1 when released... no.
will i buy 1 a year after release... no.
will i buy 1 10 years after release... no.
will i ever buy another ford ute... no.

too many probs with my current one and ford's attitude on making it right is disgusting, so my money will now go elsewhere.

its interesting that nearly 47% of voters ATM wont buy 1 either.
looks good for ford sales again...

I have never had a problem with my AU1 XR8 either...series 1 cars have never bothered me as they have never caused me grief.

Depends if
1) EL lasts that long
2) EL dies around that time
3) Other unforeseen circumstances that I don't know about yet.

Sticking with the BA. It's not getting much use because I got a company car, so it will be around for a while yet!

I can't answer that yet. Until I have SEEN it and have DRIVEN it, there's no way I can give a definitive answer. I used to be a blind Ford man where I would buy anything they dished up. Now I, while still a huge fan, won't buy anything I don't like just because it has a Ford badge on it.
