Driving through South Melbourne/Docklands this morning was a black 'Falcon sized' vehicle with taped down car protection front and rear. Included every one of the glass decals had black gaffa tape over it. Licence plate UGL-448 The details?
Well let me say, this car was sheet metal different from the BA/BF. Different doors, different roofline, different boot glass, different exhausts (i'll get to that bit). Interestingly, this car looked and sounded like an FPV Typhoon. Why? No bulge first up, and it had turbo wind up when this guy driving it gave it berries (and he did it on more than one occasion). Rather than draw differences from the BA/BF, let me start with the image from The Orion Hub of Knowledge... Remove the sculpting from the doors, they are fairly flat. The bonnet was more similar to the BA/BF, higher nose, flatter front. Rear glass was very long, the boot lid would have been about 50cm long. LED tail lights. Circular too. Kinda Honda Integra design from what I could make out from the car bra. Interior? slick. Far more Audi. Emergancy Blinkers (hazard lights) button was center top of the dash above the middle air vents. The car I saw also was completely black, wearing black Typhoon rims. Fuel filler... was on the left had rear panel.. thats different right? As I mostly saw the rear (he was going hard) and I was in a BF XR8 ute, the rear exhausts? dual outlets each side of the rear bumper... INTEGRATED INTO THE BUMPER! Very similar to the intake ducts in the picture above in the front bumper. Looks good. Shame I don't have a camera or camera phone. 2007 release date??!?! This car looked complete!

I swear, if Orion looks even remotely as hot as that picture I'm buying an F6! The AU can become the project but that is a beautiful car, must have one!

Certainly didn't have as pronounced wheel arches as the VE does.

To think people say the AU is ugly....
I guess I will wait until the real shots of it come out, then have a look at them and decide for myself what I think of it. I think that with the differences to that image that parawolf talked about, it might end up being different but not enough to be from a different planet to the current Falcons. With the differences described it sounds alright.

So the entire front was covered? Were the headlights on show at all?

The front was covered, the headlights looked half way between those in the picture and the current XR/F6/GT lights. The front grill was visible through the front cover and looked almost identical to the current F6 front grill.

Oh another thing... no body side moldings on the doors either... Makes for a very euro and clean side look.

The above image is of the new Modeo - same as the one used in the latest Bond flick. The pic has been mirrored from the original LHD image.
Can only hope that it has some of the styling cues though - tis a quite nice look imho. |

From the description it sounded like the new Supercharged Toyota due for release earlier this year? The new Ford should have sculptured doors , but these may have been covered up. Are you sure it had F6 rims? If so I'm probably completely wrong.:

Having said that, the dash interior that I could see was different to those pictured on the Aurion web site. But gee, it could have been make me look the fool, and if that is the supercharged toyota, it has some get up and go. The guy definitely didn't like me following him and looking into the car. At the lights he was giving it curry to get away from me and I was struggling to keep up and legal while he was off breaking the speed limit to get away from me. Anyone able to check who the registered plate would belong to? UGL-448.

Is this something like what you saw?? I'm pretty sure it's the supercarged Aurion bud, looks as though Toyota are doing something different with the spoiler kit so want it under wraps until then.
LOL seen this on the 2nd Oct in Richmond lol, I know coz of date stamp on phone.

Ha ha ha ....... BUSTED!!! Geez there is some bull on this forum, why do people say they see the new ford when they havent, do they get a buzz out of everyone else thinking it is true, so much that they fool themselves into believeing it too?? That car is way to small to be a Falcon. It looks like an Aurion. And i dont think Toyota hubs fit Falcon wheels. |
