Reversing out of a car park today as I was turning the wheel I heard a couple of "cracking sounds". It has only happened a couple of times both going forward and in reverse but only at very low speeds. What could this be :

That cracking sound is other car mirrors catching a glimpse of your AU :P
Nah, my EB does it too from time to time. I think it's related to the indicator/wiper stalks' internals catching on the steering column when you turn the wheel. I don't think it causes any damage (mine has been doing it since I bought it in 2002), it's just a minor annoyance. Like E-Series people baggins AUs :P Congrats on your new purchase by the way, the best of the 5.0s! |

I had this in my EF, however ended up being a couple of loose dash bolts. Tightened them up and presto, no more creaks!

well it turned out to be a stuffed steering rack, but it's still under warranty and the dealer has aggreed to fix it.
