anyone racing at WSID wed 31 may ??

I will be in sydney that week and am thinking of running my 3V ghia that night.
anyone wanna come out and say hi ?

as I have never raced at WSID before, some hints would be nice.
If nothing else would be good to see a quick 3V.

The left lane generally reads a minutly higher mph. ;)

More like the right lane reads about 2mph low and left is on the money well the last 2 times was like that.

The only tip is dont give the short old stroppy staging lane marshal any lip he's very fradgile.

What ever you do don't grab that finger, it'll really him off. I made that mistake when he just walked up and grabbed my strap and poked a finger in till i grabbed it and tried to take it home, once i realized who he was i knew i was in the sh&t.

Its a general well known fact about WSID.

A few people I know who run very consistant times and more importantly MPH is on average 2 or 3 MPH higher in the left lane than the right at WSID.

well known by who? I have done hundreds of passes at WSID and the speed is the same in both lanes always from qualifying right through eliminations. Another urban myth.

Well done mate, i had planned to come out to watch but i ended up breaking 3 toes tonight. As much as i dont want to i'll have to go to the doctor's tomorrow and get 1 fixed as it's broken the skin quite badly.

Was there much of a turnout for the Ba clan.

Thats good to hear, a while back someone point out to WSID that there trapspeeds were out. Found out that sometimes the beam box's get hit/knocked and puts them out a bit but for the street meets they dont realy bother to check them untill someone pulls them up or there is a big meet on happens quiet often.

Well I may explain a couple things, The beams are supposed to be tripped by the front wheels. Some cars these days have spoliers that low that they can trip the beams, there fore if it just trips them they may sometimes trip from the wheels and sometimes trip onthe spoiler. This is why in the ANDRA rules the front overhang of a car is regulated. Remember the dodge Daytona ( road runner ) of a few years ago that had massive front overhang ( yet was factory, so didn't need altering) that is when that rule was explained.
Personally i wouldn't go spreading rumors about a track, unless it was dead accurate.
You may find for all ANDRA events the beams heights and positions are realigned.

Aint spreading rumors Paul just facts as MYV8 said when we have raced we have been side by side no difference in speed at all but time slip show 2-3mph difference between the two cars. From the 1000ft to 1320ft we both take exactly the same time to travel that distance what does that tell you.
And as I said before its always on the money after a big meet as the big boys will pick it up straight away if its out.

thought it must be Steve, he races hard . He beat me by a few hundreths in the semis at his first bracket meet and has done very well since. I know he uses wednesday nights as a test bed for bracket meets and if the traps were out he would know. If thats whats happening at street meets you should complain. Even though its only grudge racing you want to know exactly whats going on with your car.

Yeh proberly should complain but as i said it only happens every now and then but in the future I going to run mostly at the test & tune days and you would think its accurate then considering all the comp cars running.
