Hi Guys
just looking for some help/guidance. i have a 2012 for mondeo TDCI and the rubber inlet manifold insulation cover has perished and started to break away. it is also quite dirty under there with an oily type film that has covered all of the electric and fuel line cables etc. It look like oil but to touch is quite sticky. i can only assume this is why the rubber has deteriorated, i would of thought this are would stay clean. can anyway point me in the right direction as to why this would be happening?

I use Threebond Super Engine Conditioner. Softens and cleans that crud off injectors etc. Bursons sell it. There would be other brands out there.
