Well id be damned after Bathurst that I would sit through more crappy adds watching Indy, so while reading Motor last night I notice a small "challenge" on page 20.
So the terms are: Current MX-5 (I think they mean the '04 RS version as there is no '05) Stock Standard Arcade Mode (time trail I guess) Road Tyres (I didn't read that at first) Tsukuba Raceway So before sending in my time, I might aswell see what other people are doing so I am not wasting my time. My best so far is 1'11.471 its amazing how much difference tyres make as I was doing 1'09.xx on softs before I realised you needed to use Road tyres. I think I can do a bit better, but it would only be by a tenth or so. And it gets boring driving around in a stocker _ Heres a pic. http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...php?photo=7217 So anyone else up for a quick challenge?:

Best I got before I decided I'd had enough of driving on road tyres was 1'12.141, I know I could have got a faster time, but I couldn't resist having a bit of fun with throwing the tail out and oversteering around the corners...
1'11.471 - you must have had more restraint then I did mate :hihi:

Speed magazine had one as well, but that magazine seems to have stopped now which is a shame.

I'd be interested to see what the best times anyone can get if they try the BMW M5 rather then the MX-5, I had a go, and damn it was fun, not easy, but fun once you get the hang of it.

1'10.764 as per the MX5 challenge
Had spin with the M5 too for good measure, with sports medium tires though: '59.878 |
