When it comes to power usage, you have to factor in time. Say you put 2 things side by side, both draw 2400w or 10 amps yet one does the job in two thirds or half the time, which is more convenient and uses less power?
Same with inductance cook tops. They heat up fast and take a lot less time to heat a pot. Same cooking time vs regular snail electric cooktop, but a snail cook top takes a lot longer to heat up. So its a time vs wattage thing. If the thing uses slightly more but does the same job a lot faster, it still is cheaper to run.
