Basically, either way you look at it, the next Opel Insignia looks to be an enlarged Chev Malibu/Buick Regal.
More like the longer wheelbase versions of Epsilon II like Impala but with Malibu's medium sized boot.

So I'm prediction an Insignia on the longer wheelbase with commodore rear leg room and overall length.

Only fractionally narrower than Zeta Commodore, the car will see real lift in fuel economy for base models,
a fuel efficient diesel and a turbo I-4 being enough for most people. Maybe AWd TTV6 for HSV.
