Default Re: Tickford Brake upgrade help

So I've had a look at a few other Tickford Premium threads and this is the one, started by Whoosha, that actually makes the most sense.

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...premium+brakes

So Tickford developed the brackets to enable the Premium Calipers to be mounted on the leading side of T3s, which is how the Brembos were mounted and also to eliminate the need to produce two different uprights.

So the bracket enabled AUII and III XRs with Premium brakes to be mounted on the leading side, that is, use the standard AUII/III upright, but according to Tick4ord-Tas they used the old uprights and were mounted on the trailing side?

Like Shane's AUII XR6 VCT, from which I swapped his Tickford Premiums.

So does this mean that only T3s with the standard Premiums use the bracket to mount the brakes on the leading side?

If that is the case then it is no wonder that the Tickford developed brackets are as rare as rocking horse droppings...

So all these guys that have bought PBR C4 Caliper kits or some second hand Premium calipers need to source the rare or expensive brackets or make sure they get the trailing side upright as part of the sale or find them separately - not easy.

Looks like I was very lucky that I was able to swap the brakes including the uprights from an AUII that had been optioned from the factory with Tickford Premium brakes.

Otherwise I would join the other guys on the forum who have Tickford Premium calipers that are currently being used as doorstops...
